For better or worse, I've been playing shows since 1980. If anybody wants to know, here's my attempt at a complete list of them. Needless to say, this is very much a work in progress.

5/?/81: American High School Talent show. My first band. We were called The Punks. We played "God Save The Queen".

5/?/83: American High School Talent show. Hand Of Doom (Our Sabbath tribute band) played Zep's "Rock And Roll". I remember a huge roar going up when the guitar solo kicked in. I might be wrong about that.

?/?83: American High School pep rally. It was to promote the below gig. The black kids walked out on us and the white kids couldn't hear us.

?/?83: American High School Gymnasium. Somehow, my younger brother got us a gig playing in the gym during lunch. The band: HAND OF DOOM, our Sabbath cover band.

?/?/83: Palm Springs North Rec Center. Another Hand Of Doom gig that my brother conned for us; this time at a community picnic. I signed my first autograph on this day. I wonder which landfill that scrap of paper is in now?  

6/24/83: Flynn's, Miami Beach, FL. We were supposed to be called "Broken Palate", but the flyer ended up saying "Broken Talent" so we decided to stick with it. Why Howard Davis let us play after he witnessed our soundcheck is beyond me, but I'm glad he did. We were amongst the first bands to play at Flynn's, in the pre- Richard Shelter days. (BT)

9/?/83: Fire And Ice, Miami, FL with THE CHANT. It was a psychedelic tribute night of some sort. The Chant said we were better than they were, which I find astounding. (BT)

11/?/83: Flynn's, Miami Beach, FL. With a bunch of hardcore bands who were a lot more proficient then we were. Result: one thrown bottle (at us) and Dave Camp calling me a rock star. (BT)

12/31/83: Patio Party, Hialeah, FL. I have no memory of this, but both Marky Awesome (Broken Talent guitar player) and Dez Spellbound (of the Broken Talent Auxilliary Corps) tell me it happened.

?/?/84: American High School Talent show. Me, David Cash, and my younger did "Heaven And Hell", based on the very long live version. Nobody liked it.

4/14/84: The Casbah, Hallandale, FL. Open mic night. They didn't know what they were in for! The MC announces the date as April 14, but this date is probably incorrect.(VC)

4/15/84: Open Books And Records, North Miami Beach, FL. at Open's Velvet Underground Appreciation Day. We did an all- Velvets set. We were obnoxious. It's on video. (BT)

4/29/84: Tropical Depression All Ages Show, Fireman's Hall, Fort Lauderdale, FL with GENERIC DEATH, DRILLS, GAY COWBOYS IN BONDAGE, SECTOR 4, etc. (BT)

5/??/84: The Casbah, Hallandale, FL. Open mic night. By now they knew what they were in for and they pulled the plug on us. This date is probably incorrect.(VC)

7/?/84: Durham, NC with FEARLESS VAMPIRE KILLERS. At a rented Rastafarian storefront club. Show was promoted by Simon "Bob" Sinister, vocalist for the Ugly Americans and later for Corrosion Of Conformity. FVK were a ska band. (BT + VC)

7/12/84: The Beat, Columbia, SC with ANTISEEN. First time meeting the boys from Brutalsville. The club hired out a giant PA, which cost us $100. I don't know if I've ever played a louder show.(BT)

7/14/84: Metroplex, Atlanta, GA with GENERIC DEATH, and MODERN MANNEQUINS. The Modern Mannequins called the club and told them that we had cancelled. They wanted the date for themselves so they could "showcase" their generic, by- the- numbers, extremely boring, highly forgettable, synth driven New Wave Music. They sucked really hard and they drove everyone out of the club. Afterward, we were told that Generic Death had to play or that our contract wouldn't be honored. GD had just lost their drummer so I was pressed into service. Never mind that I had never played drums in my life. We played the set and we were horrible, but we did it! Then Broken Talent played its last proper show with Cat on drums. Somehow it ended up being a fun night. Every once in a while I'll run across a Modern Mannequins record (always in the cheap bin) and I'm reminded of how lame they were/ are.(BT)

Shannon's grandfather died before our set so he had to leave. Skaters knocked a huge hole in the basement wall and tore the paint off the floor. Jeff got it all fixed before his parents returned from a trip the next day! (BT)

4/25/86: Churchill's Hideaway, Miami, FL with PROM SLUTS and others. This was the first night of live music ever held at Churchill's. My friend Todd "Godd" Jenkins found the place and I put the bill together. Broken Talent was to headlne, but fell apart a week before. I was coerced into making some noise onstage with some of the other people who played that night. We were the "kid bands" who got the ball rolling at Churchill's- a ball which rolls to this very day.

7/2/86: Churchill's Hideaway, Miami, FL. I played terrible lead guitar in a jam session with LEO CASINO AND THE LIBERTY CITY BAND.
